The round-abouts in life.

I am grateful for the round-abouts in Madrid, or rotaries as they are called in some countries. When I drive around them and miss my turn, I go around one more time. I have been known to drive around three times until I figure out where I am going.

It's that way in life too. Perhaps we knew where we were going when we started but went around too fast or were distracted and missed our turn. So we need to take the pedal off the gas and go slower, talk to the Lord, watch the signs, and listen to His voice.

We sometimes get confused about direction or decisions, and fortunately, God gives us another chance to understand which way we should go. We can go around our problem or challenge one more time until we are clear about our route. That is so good of the Lord.

He desires to get us to our destination, and it doesn't matter how many times we go around the round-about. He will guide us as we yield to Him.

This word from Isaiah 35:8 encouraged me. Although some versions say, "fools will not travel on the Holiness Highway," many versions, including the NKJ, the NIV, and the leading Spanish translations, say that even if I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer, I won't get lost.

"A highway will be there—yes, there—and people will call it 'The Holy Way'. As for unclean people,  they will not journey on it, but it will be for whoever is traveling on that way—  not even fools will get lost. ISV

So if you need to go around the round-about one more time, do it.
